"Isolation plus movement = Pain!"
- Sensei Ian Arbon, 5th Dan and founder of the Wakarishin Jujitsu associationJujitsu is one of the oldest documented forms of martial art, developed by the Japanese warriors known as 'Samurai'. Originally Jujitsu was designed for the battlefield, for when the warriors lost their weapons, so they could continue fighting. Now obviously these days you're not really likely to find yourself in the middle of a battlefield with a lot of angry Samurai warriors waving sharp, pointy things at you, but that's ok, it's not a problem!
Jujitsu has evolved into one of the most effective self defence systems in the world. Jujitsu focuses on manipulating your opponent's own strength against them as well as manipulating the body's bio-mechanics for leverage. Using a combination of technique, timing and skill, the size and strength of your opponent becomes more a hindrance to them than an advantage.
Kyle is a 2nd Dan black belt in Jujitsu and a qualified coach. Private lessons are available on request.
